https://forms.gle/5Ek2p4naHGVu8eSF9Our annual conference, connect2comms, will be held at the Crowne Plaza Kansas City Downtown, Kansas City, on October 16-18, 2019.
This year the Southern Region will be combining with the Pacific Plains Region with attendees hailing from 39 U.S. and Caribbean chapters, stretching from the Pacific to the Atlantic. While the bulk of participants will be IABC members, other communication practitioners, agency employees and students also will be there. Conference attendees represent a variety of industries and settings, including corporate, academic, not-for-profit and small businesses. The audience will reflect all stages of experience, with past regional conferences drawing sizable participation by senior level communicators with 16 or more years in the field.
In addition to keynote presentations, breakout sessions will explore vital topics affecting business communicators, covering both internal and external communications. If possible, it is suggested that presentations align with the IABC Global Communication Certification Council recommendations for professional development. https://gcccouncil.org/ Some attendees will be using the conference programming to meet continuing education requirements.
Broad topic examples include:
Presenters have the option of several session formats. What’s most important is that your audience is engaged, energized and amazed.
One-hour presentation by a single individual with ample time allotted for audience discussion and engagement
One-hour shared presentation between two individuals with time set aside for audience discussion and engagement
One-hour session for a three-person panel. Brief opening remarks followed by audience questions and engagement
One-hour workshop that provides an interactive, practical hands-on learning session
But don’t let that get you down … all selected speakers will receive a complimentary registration to the conference in appreciation for participation. Speak for an hour, then network with the finest business communicators for a day and a half!
