Each chapter within the Southern Region is invited to send one (1) representative to attend the Southern Region Leaders Summit. The selected chapter representative should be one of three roles from the local chapter: the Senior Delegate (usually the Past President), the current President or the incoming President. An alternate representative from the chapter board may be selected to attend the Leaders Summit if one of three mentioned roles is unable to attend.
Held on October 15 from 12-4 PM MDT, at the IABC Southern Region Conference, Denver, CO, the Leaders Summit is an opportunity for the chapter representative to attend a collective session with other chapter representatives and the Region Board to:
An individual Travel Allowance will be made available automatically to each chapter who has a representative present at the Leaders Summit. Current guidelines provide each chapter representative be given $400 ($600 for Caribbean chapters). A chapter will not receive a Travel Allowance if their representative cannot (and does not) attend the majority of the Leaders Summit. Travel Allowances will be disbursed after the conclusion of the Southern Region Conference via online Bill Pay to the chapter sending the representative. The representative should arrange with the chapter for personal reimbursement if the chapter is not covering the expenses of the delegate.
Representatives attending the Leaders Summit should share what is gleaned from the Leaders Summit with their respective chapters when they return from the conference.
