Southern Region’s Jordan Nagel named region leader of the year

Jordan Nagel, Southern Region chair for 2022-23, was honored as international region leader of the year at the recent IABC World Conference in Toronto.

Nominees for the award are considered on four measurements: ethics, innovation, extraordinary contribution and inspiring leadership. In each category, Jordan went above and beyond during a demanding year.

“Jordan leads with integrity, staying true to her personal values and those of IABC,” her nomination submission stated. “In any meeting or conversation, it quickly becomes clear that she lives a life consistent with the IABC Code of Ethics – from her honesty, accuracy in communication, respect for others’ views and beliefs, and her habit of giving credit to others for their ideas and work.”

Her achievements include the formation of the new Florida chapter and initial steps toward creation of the North Carolina chapter, the region’s response to IRS issues and the Stronger Together Task Force proposals, and a successful region conference. Earlier, Jordan also created annual region-level awards for rising star, leader of the year and a region hall of fame recipient.

As her nomination submission noted, she led with “grace, empathy, integrity and cool determination” throughout the year and maintained a commitment to member value.

“Jordan’s steady leadership encouraged region and chapter leaders to stay enthusiastic about IABC,” it added.

Jordan and her family live in Katy, Texas, a Houston suburb. This marked the second year in a row that the Southern Region chair received this award.
