I just came back from World Conference and am convinced that now more than ever, communication plays a truly critical role in our world today. We’ve seen its power to connect people, to drive change and to get results.
Setting a standard of excellence
IABC has set the standard of excellence and provided a vibrant community for professional communicators since 1970. I believe the pandemic has given us the opportunity to rethink the way we deliver value to our members and support our leadership. I’m thrilled to be a participant in this reinvigoration of IABC as a part of the council of regions and region chair.
IABC now offers a variety of membership packages so you can pick the one that works for you! With your membership, you now have access to the IABC Career Assessment and IABC Career Roadmap.
Based on member feedback, IABC created IABC Advance, a one-stop shop for strategic insights, skills and information to drive tangible business results.
This year the certification programs received accreditation from the International Standards Organization (ISO). An SCMP certification is on my to-do list for 2023!
Looking ahead with the Southern Region
At the Southern Region, we’re focused on fueling careers and helping our leaders thrive. Our 2022-2023 board recently gathered in Greenville, SC for our annual planning retreat where we reviewed past successes and addressed challenges.
From SWOT analysis to strategic planning and goal setting, we’re enthused about the year ahead. You’ll benefit from the fruits of our labor as we roll out continuous professional development, networking and more opportunities to make valuable connections with key leaders and influencers.
